For some of you, this may be old news. But, buried among the old news is some new news-so just bear with me. The old news (but that’s new to me) is that, they make replica Poké balls for fans and collectors! Apparently, in 2020, The Pokémon Company teamed up with British prop makers The Wand Company to produce the first-ever die-cast Poké Ball replicas. The first ball released is the iconic red and white Poké ball. Which is the tool that new trainers use to catch Pokémon. It came out in February of 2021. Since then, The Wand Company has been continually delivering new Poké balls designs for fans and collectors alike.
Which brings me to the new news. Which new Poké balls are they releasing into the wild for 2023? Nerdist.com reports this:
New this year from The Wand Company will be replicas of Pokémon‘s Love Ball, Dive Ball, Net Ball, and the Luxury Ball. The first of these Poké Balls to release will be the Love Ball, first introduced in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver. You can take a look at this gorgeous collectible below. The other three Poké Balls will follow throughout the year.
If these Poké ball replicas are new to you too, check this out. “Equipped with touch and proximity-sensing technology, each Poké Ball’s button glows when it senses motion and glows extra brightly when the ball is touched. Pressing the button starts a Pokémon-catching illumination sequence; double-clicking it changes the light colour from white to red and then green. These display-grade Poké Balls are ideal for collectors: each replica comes with its own presentation case – authenticated by a uniquely-numbered hologram – and a polished stainless steel ring so that you can display your Poké Ball exactly how you’d like to,” via The Wand Company’s Website.
Secondly, lights in the display case automatically illuminate when it is opened. Thus bathing the Poké Ball in a softly swirling glow. Adjust the colour of the light using the touch-sensitive name plaque on the front of the case. There are seven different hues to choose from. How cool is that?
These Poké balls are available at select retailers nationwide and go for about $100.00.
