A Funko Frog Thor

Frog Thor gets Funko’d

It seems a long time ago now, but remember when Loki had his own TV show? When I saw it, I thought they couldn’t possibly top the final couple of episodes. I mean, what with Richard E. Grant dressed as classic Loki and exclaiming, “Glorious purpose!” as he created a distraction for Hiddleston’s Loki…ah! What a moment! And yet, shows like Moonknight and Ms. Marvel have come to pass and I just can’t get ahold of myself.

Anyway, there’s an episode of Loki where Frog Thor makes a tiny cameo. He’s imprisoned in a jar that’s buried underground in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance. The cameo is a nod to comic creator Walter Simonson‘s acclaimed run on the Thor title, specifically Thor #365 (1985), “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, or, It’s Not Easy Being Green” that featured the God of Thunder transformed into an amphibian courtesy of his mischievous brother Loki.

Frog Thor or “Throg” now has his own Funko figure! Yesterday Funko unveiled a Target Exclusive Pop Deluxe: Loki-Frog of Thunder figure.

If even the tiniest cameo can get their own action figure, is there hope that Funko will make Scarlet Scarab Funko figure? One can only hope!

Anyway, in additonal Loki/Funko Fandom news, Funko immortalized another Marvel Moment from the Loki TV show: POP! Moment: Marvel-Loki and Sylvie Set. From Comicsbeat.com: “Plans have gone awry in this exclusive Pop! Moment of Loki & Sylvie. Having opened doors to new opportunities, Loki and Sylvie connect on a personal level as they prepare for the end of the world.”

Both of these Funko sets are available for pre-orders right now exclusively at Target Stores and Target.com.
