Dungeons & Dragons is getting a LEGO set

It seems like this marriage should have already happened by now, am I right? LEGO has already conquered so many other IPs: Disney, Harry Potter, Star Wars… Have we really been living in a world without a D&D LEGO set? Turns out, we have. But no more! According to Nerdist.com “To celebrate the 50th anniversary of D&D coming up in 2024, the teams at LEGO Ideas and Wizards of the Coast kicked off a contest to find the best fan-built crossover. Hundreds of entries have been narrowed down only five. And now, you can vote for your favorite through December 12, 2022! But don’t scurry to the LEGO section at your nearest Fanboys just yet. The LEGO sets will go in production and won’t be available until December of NEXT year.

Until then, you can comb through the 381 entires into the contest and see what didn’t make the final 5. I mean, some of them are incredible. Talk about Master Builders, how do they do it?! Check out the photos below of some of the entries:

If you’re wondering if that last image is a D20 that unfolds to become a D&D map…WITH dragon on top…you’d be correct. How genius is this? I’m not sure which ones have been picked for the top five, but you can check it out here. All this is in preparation for D&D’s 50th anniversary that’s coming up in 2024. Fifty years! How come it took you so long LEGO?
