Mark Cuban, most known for being an investor on the reality show Shark Tank, was born on July 31st, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Cuban has not always been the billion-dollar investor we know today; he had very meager beginnings, in fact. Cuban has stated he only had 60 dollars, a case of oil in the trunk, and a floor to sleep on after graduating from college. Although, he overcame that and rose to the top! He has had many business ventures in his lifetime, so let us jump right on into it!
One of Cuban’s earliest ventures was offering disco lessons while he was attending college. He also ran a chain letter scheme during this time. As stated previously, Cuban had only 60 dollars to his name after graduating college; nonetheless, he moved to Dallas, Texas, and began what would be a long line of business and career ventures.
When Cuban first got to Dallas, he began working at Your Business Software, a PC software retailer. Although, the job did not last long, Cuban was fired because he went to speak to a potential business client instead of opening the store.
In the years following, he launched his first majorly successful company, MicroSolutions! The company specialized in systems integration and software reselling. Cuban later sold the company for 6 million dollars!

Cuban is the proud owner of the NBA team, Dallas Mavericks! He acquired the team in 2000 when he purchased it from former owner Ross Perot Jr.!
He is also a co-founder of 2929 Entertainment! The company produces digital entertainment, including movies and TV shows. Since Cuban owns 2929, he also owns the renowned independent film company Magnolia Pictures. The film company is a subsidiary of 2929 Entertainment, and they have produced many hit films. Some of those hit films include V/H/S, Mr. Nobody, and Tucker & Dale vs. Evil!
