Wondering what to do for May the 4th? I got you covered.
Star Wars Day is tomorrow (May the 4th) and I will do what I usually do: wake up and put on every bit of Star Wars merch I own. But then the question is always, What next? Well, I’ve scoured the internet for things to do in and around town and have come up with a few suggestions. Let’s go!
Apparently Star Wars fans love beer, because there’s a plenty of breweries to go to that are hosting drink specials, etc. for Star Wars Day. Here’s a handful:
- Rahr & Sons Brewing Co. is hosting their 4th Star Wars Day with their usual mid-week tasting, except tomorrow you can get your hands on some limited edition Star Wars themed souvenir pint glasses.
- Test your Star Wars knowledge with trivia night at Martin House Brewery starting at 7pm until 9pm.
- Jaxon Beer Garden in Dallas will have specialty drinks on hand and photo ops with your favorite Star Wars Characters.
- 3 Nations Brewing in Carrollton will have drink specials as well as Star Wars bingo and a pet parade! Things start off 5pm and last until 10!
- Beer not your thing? You may like Pinky’s Champagne Room & Velvet Jazz Lounge where they’ll be serving Star Wars themed cocktails with a Darth Vader DJ.
Need a place to take the kids to that’s not a brewery or a cocktail lounge? I got you covered there as well. The entire Historic Downtown Carrollton Square will have all sorts of family friendly events for the young padawan or aspiring sith in your life. From their website: “enjoy a celebration featuring space-themed virtual reality experiences, crafts, a 360-degree photo booth, trivia, and laser tag. Come in a costume of your favorite galactic character for a chance to win a prize in our costume contest.” The event is from 5-8pm. Find out more on their webpage.
As promised: a handful of locales, some closer than others, for you to geek out in your best Boba Fett or Princess Leia cosplay. I’d hate to fail to mention there’s always Zoli’s, a great Fort Worth pizza shop serving up their Thermal Detonator pizza whose description I have to share here: “Celebrate Star Wars Day at the only pizza cantina in town and get to Zoli’s for the return of the Thermal Detonator pizza!! Available this Wednesday, May the Fourth, so put on your jedi braid and hop on your tauntaun for the only pizza guaranteed to give you the (Kessel) runs.” Told you it was great.
So, now that you’ve strapped on your lightsaber, donned your Vader helmet and finished off your blue milk for breakfast, I think you’re ready to head out. I hope these suggestions gave you a bit of an idea of where to go to celebrate, and may the force be with you…always.
