Is there really anything more fun than a really good blooper reel? Especially when it comes to latest season of Stranger Things when things end up looking pretty grim. Netflix just dropped over 3 minutes of behind the scenes bloopers from Stranger Things 4. Watching it reminds me of two things, how much I love that show, and how much I miss these characters.
The clips show flubbed lines, on-set jump scares and the moments the actors can’t contain their laugh. There’s something comforting about seeing Vecna laugh right smack dab in the middle of a menacing scene. It’s also nice to see such characters as Eleven goof around a bit as her character is so serious during this season. If I could complain about anything it’s that it wasn’t long enough. I’d love even more bloopers. Or maybe I just want more time spent with these guys.
My love for Stranger Things comes from just digging these kids so much. I don’t know if anyone complained about the length of the latest season’s episodes, but it certainly was not me. I love being with these people. In a recent conversation, a friend and I were talking Star Wars. He was saying how big of a fan he was and half of that is just because he likes spending time in that world. Were the prequels any good? No. Did he care: not really? Just because being in the Star Wars universe is half of the fun of it! I get it, but it’s not the same for me. I love Star Wars too, but I want to love the characters as well. Too often Star Wars gets in its own way, as with the Rise of Skywalker, and I just can’t get into it.
But, Stranger Things delivers for me. The kids, the adults, the world, the upside-down, the Russians, the music, the 80s; I’m here for all of it. The blooper reel just brings it all right back and makes me want to watch the series all over again. So, today, let’s not be so serious shall we? Enjoy a snippet of fun from a super scary serious season while we all anxiously await for the next-and final one.
