Stranger Things 4 newest trailer teases an Upside Down war
It’s kind of hard to remember the world we were in when Stranger Things 3 was released. It was back in 2019-10 years ago, maybe?-and surely the actors can’t possibly play kids anymore, right? Ok, all joking aside, it has been a while since we’ve been in Hawkins, Indiana so just what has transpired since we last saw Eleven and her crew? From Netflix:
It’s been six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought terror and destruction to Hawkins. Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier. In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.
The trailer teases several exciting things. For starters it looks like the kids all actually enter the Upside Down, like they’re riding their bikes through it. Which is awesome. It looks like there are some wicked looking bats, possibly from the Upside Down as well, and there’s this guy who looks like a zombie from The Body Exhibit…but with a few too many tentacles than a normal human body would, you know…have. Also, Max levitates, the Upside Down has an 80’s rocker shredding on the guitar, Eleven has to tap back into her mind powers, and there’s an awesomely creepy house at the center of it all.
I just hope it doesn’t raise all these weird questions and just leaves us hanging. The chief among them…what does the Upside Down want with us? In the first couple of Stranger Things Seasons it was Scientists-Open-Portal-To-Another-Dimension-By-Accident. Now it seems Zombie-face needs to take it over. I mean-why, really? Which is my big question…why?
Maybe he’s angry we even opened the portal in the first place. Like a “get off my lawn!” type of thing. Or it’s revenge against Eleven and her crew-after all, they did kill all the other creatures from the Upside Down.
I guess we’ll all find out soon enough. Stranger Things 4 is being release in two volumes. Volume one will hit Netflix on May 27th. Volume two will hit on July 1st.
